Private fleet ELD for manufacturers. Driver files ready.
TenTrucks handles private fleet management for manufacturers that deliver their own goods: GPS fleet tracking, ELD compliance, driver files and preventive maintenance in one app.
Be ready when the auditor asks.
Driver files usually sit in the HR cabinet until an audit, so TenTrucks keeps each driver's required documents in one place and shows what's missing.
- Keep 9 document types per driver, from application to medical card
- See what's current, expiring soon, expired or missing
- Get an alert before a document expires
Know how long trucks wait at docks.
A truck stuck at a customer's dock makes the afternoon run late, so geofence alerts show when trucks arrive, leave and how long they stayed.
- Get geofence alerts at plants, warehouses and customer sites
- See time on site by truck and by location
- Track every truck in real time and replay yesterday's route
Keep long-haul drivers within their hours.
Drivers on long runs between states need an ELD, so TenTrucks shows each driver's remaining hours and warns them before they run out.
- Warn drivers 30, 15 and 5 minutes before an hours-of-service limit
- Send office log edits to the driver to approve or reject
- Send the officer the log file from a roadside inspection screen
Fix defects before they become breakdowns.
A defect written on paper is easy to lose, so every problem a driver finds in the daily inspection report opens a work order on its own.
- Run daily inspection reports in the app, with photos
- Plan preventive maintenance by days, miles or engine hours
- Get alerts when the yearly inspection or service is due
Protect the name on the door.
Your trucks carry your company name, so TenTrucks scores each driver on harsh braking, hard acceleration, sharp turns and seatbelt use.
- Coach drivers from their driver safety scorecard
- Get speeding alerts set from 1 to 50 mph over the limit
- Count miles per state from GPS for your IFTA fuel tax reports
Do your trucks need an ELD?
Check each truck and each driver, because one plant can have every row below.
| Your truck or driver | ELD needed? | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| Van with a door-sticker weight rating of 10,000 lb or less | No | Below the line, it's not a commercial truck under the federal rules. |
| Box truck on local runs, back at the plant the same day | Usually no | The local-driving exemption covers it if the driver stays within 150 miles as the crow flies and is back within 14 hours. |
| Driver who goes past the local limit now and then | Some days | Paper logs are fine on up to 8 days in any 30, and past that it's an ELD. |
| Tractor on the weekly run to a plant in another state | Yes | A long run between states needs a logbook, and that means an ELD. |
| Truck built before model year 2000 | No | It can use paper logs instead, but the driving-hour limits still apply. |
| Trucks that never leave your state | Depends | Your state's rules usually apply, unless the goods are on their way to or from another state. |
General federal rules, not legal advice. Your state may add its own.
What TenTrucks doesn't do
TenTrucks doesn't connect to your ERP, order system or warehouse software, though our public API and webhooks let your team build that link. It doesn't measure the 150-mile radius or flag a day outside the local-driving exemption. The office decides who logs and keeps the time records. Drug and alcohol testing runs outside TenTrucks. Yard tractors and forklifts without the TenTrucks device aren't tracked.
